Bionic Inspired Heat Exchanger
For an efficient heat transfer of heating elements, a bionic principle was implemented in 3D printing design (SLM for aluminum or stainless steel).
The designs were tested in the laboratory CC TEVT at Lucerne University. The heat yield could be increased by more than 30% compared to the original design, using a consequent additive (AM) approach. In addition, the use of materials can be significantly reduced, the disassembly and thus recyclability can be improved.
