Additive Manufacturing and recycling of a thermoplastic composite aerospace part
2022 (Spring) Channel: General ideas an needs in the field of additive manufacturing
The objective of this proposals to show alternative ways of recycling for typical thermoplastic composites (TPC) used in aerospace industry with high contents of carbon fibres. Through a cradle to cradle procedure a 3D printed part should be recycled and reprinted.
In our study we would like to demonstrate to reclaim carbon fibers (rCF) and to use them in 3D priniting based on the devloped technologies of 9Tlabs. These materials will be used to reprint the aerospace part (door hinge) which will be mechanical tested. The goal of the innobooster study is to demonstrate the general feasibility and the performance of sustainable materials in additive manufacturing.
