3D printed facial reconstruction research receives $700,000 grant
Dr. Xiao Liu, a researcher at the University of Wollongong, has received $700,000 in funding from the Passe and Williams Foundation to develop 3D printed facial reconstruction methods for head and neck cancer patients, aiming to improve their post-treatment quality of life. This funding will support the creation of a resorbable scaffold jaw implant over the next four years, addressing the challenges faced by patients undergoing surgical interventions for oral cancer.
