2022 (Autumn) Channel: General ideas an needs in the field of additive manufacturing

In many industries, the dry lubrication properties for instance for the valve stem can play an important role for the enhancement of product life-time and/or application areas. Conventionally, dedicated materials with included graphite pockets are used (such as for instance deva.metal®)  making graphite release serving for enhanced dry lubrication properties.

However, such materials are not known in additive manufacturing yet, and corresponding powders are not achievable. Alternative solutions are therefore required for the manufacturing of complex shaped parts with improved dry lubrication properties.
